Are you staying warm in this crazy cold? I have to say that feels a bit chilly in the church office this morning, but it makes me even more thankful for my coffee and space heater! 🙂
This is the final weekend of 2017. Are you a ‘reflector’? I am. I’m the kind of person who likes to look back and reflect on what’s happened, before I move forward into the new. So I’ve been doing that quite a bit lately – actually for much of December while I was away. It’s been a time of quiet and processing what God’s been doing in my life over the past year and considering & praying over the things that I feel He’s leading me into this next year. As peaceful as this may sound, it’s not always peaceful or easy. Looking back over the year, I see where I’ve failed and where I’ve been broken. And the places that He’s leading me to aren’t always the places where I thought I would be going – in fact in some ways they’re quite opposite of ‘Delora’s original plan’. But in the midst of me freaking out or fearing what’s next, God is SO gracious and merciful. He comes and meets me right where I am with love & peace. And because of His never-ending love for me, I’m learning to trust Him with all the details of my life, as I head into 2018.
Sooooo….I need YOUR help. We are looking for your favourite Malmo Memory of 2017. It can be anything – something you heard on a Sunday or something that you saw that touched your heart or an activity that happened at Malmo this past year…whatever memory of Malmo over this past year that causes you to smile – we’d love to hear about it! Will you share that with us? We’d like to include it in this years Annual Report book. CLICK HERE to send us your 2017 Malmo memory.
Just a reminder that there is NO Sunday School this Sunday. Sunday School will resume again on January 7th at 9:45am. But bundle your family up and come and join us for our Worship service at 11:00am and our after service coffee fellowship time. It may be cold outside but the fellowship is warm at Malmo.
Have a blessed final weekend of 2017! See you Sunday.
P.S. The New Year is just around the corner – the time of the year that many of us consider ‘New Years Resolutions’. Have you considered reading through the bible in one year? For years it’s something that I tried to do – and always ended up failing. But in 2012, for a number of reasons, I committed to reading through the bible in a year. And honestly? It has completely CHANGED my life! God’s Word is relevant to every day life & He uses it to change lives. So may I encourage you, if you don’t already get into His word daily, to do so? For myself, I’ve found the reading plans from ‘Back to the Bible’ to be so helpful. (I like using the ‘blended plan’.)
