These past few months have been a season of change and stretching in my life. God’s been teaching me, in new ways, to hold things loosely and to trust Him even deeper. Whether it’s my possessions or activities or identities – or even my loved ones – my natural reaction is to hold on tightly to the familiar, instead of being open to the new. But then God has to pry open my fingers to let go of the thing I’m hanging on to, that isn’t in His plan or His way for me. And like Corrie Ten Boom says, “it hurts”! But our ever-patient God lovingly says, yet again, “Trust Me. Don’t fear. I’ve got you”. So day by day, I’m learning to trust and to hold these things loosely in my open hands so that He can shape them, direct them or even remove them, as He desires.
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”
Looking forward to seeing you and your family this Sunday at church. Sunday School for all ages at 9:45am and our Worship Service at 11:00am.
Have a great weekend & enjoy the sunshine!
P.S. We’ve done a bit of ‘remodelling’ to the bulletin. Let us know what you think.
