What a beautiful week it has been! The warmth of the sun, the trees in their brilliant green and the flower blossoms with their beauty and fragrance. Every year I am amazed at the vibrant colours of spring – especially after the long winter months of seeing a more ‘monotone’ landscape. Spring is truly an overwhelming delight to the eyes – and all the senses!
I wonder if that’s how David felt, when he penned the Psalm of praise in Psalm 19? Was his heart overcome by what he saw in creation? When he was outside tending his sheep, did he see more than just smelly sheep and the task that was before him? Did he slow down and take time to really SEE and ENJOY the colours and the intricate design of nature all around him – and in that, to realize and KNOW God’s presence with him and to give God all the glory – like creation does every single day? Yes, I think he did. And he encourages me – and you – to do the same. No matter what our days are about or how busy we are, may we, like David, take time to give God the glory in all things.
“The heavens are telling the glory of God; they are a marvelous display of his craftsmanship. Day and night they keep on telling about God. Without a sound or word, silent in the skies, their message reaches out to all the world.”
~Psalm 19:1-3 (TLB)
This Sunday, immediately following the morning worship service, we’ll be celebrating the upcoming wedding of Keith & Monika, with a Potluck Wedding Shower. Please bring a main dish and a salad to share, (dessert will be provided), and come on out and join us as we shower Keith & Monika with lots of Malmo love! (For anyone who is able, we’d also love some help in the kitchen with setting out the food and the clean-up!)
This Sunday is also the LAST Sunday School class of the season! (Hard to believe the year is over already!) So you don’t want to miss the finale class!
We’re looking forward to this Sunday – so bring your family and join us – it’s going to be a great day!
