How’s your week been? Mine has been LOOONNNGGG…(Am I allowed to say that in a church email??) Well, I guess if our goal here at church is to be authentic in both words and deeds…there it is. It’s been a long week. And there still seems to be a lot to do before I get to take a Sabbath on Sunday afternoon. So what do I do in the midst of the long and tired and busy days? For me personally, it’s intentionally having what I like to call “Jesus time”. Those moments in my day when I just get quiet before my Heavenly Father. I read scripture or I pray with words or I just sit quietly before him, showing Him what’s going on in my head and in my world. Even though He already knows all those things, He still wants me to bring it all to Him. It’s a sign of trust and love between us. When I take the time to do this, I feel better – more calm, less scattered and ready to go back to the next thing in my day. And that is certainly not of my own doing – it truly is a ‘Jesus-thing’.
My heart has heard you say,
“Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds,
“LORD, I am coming.”
It’s an exciting weekend here at Malmo. It’s the Sunday School Kick-off Sunday! We’re starting with a Pancake Breakfast at 9:30am. Then having an Open Session in the Sanctuary at 10:00am. We’ll have some songs, meet the teachers and then head off to our individual classes. Remember! Sunday School is for ALL ages – so we even have a class for YOU! 😉 Hope you can join us!
Our Worship Service begins at 11:00am. It’s our ‘Tearfund Giving Sunday’, so I’ll be sharing an update from Kernels of Hope as well as sharing a bit about Tearfund. If you’d like to financially support this excellent ministry, please make your cheques payable to ECCC.
Looking forward to Sunday. We (the Pastors & I) pray for you each week. May your weekend be wonderful and safe too.
See you Sunday!
