This weekend is the Evangelical Covenant Church Conference in Phoenix Arizona.  Both Pastor Randall & Pastor Marc, along with their wives, are in attendance there.  Would you be praying for both the Conference and our Pastors?  It’s an exciting time for Marc, as he will be officially ordained as ‘Rev. Marc Vandersluys’  at Saturday evenings’ Ordination service.  The Conference is being Live Streamed, so if you would like to watch the service, click HERE to access the Live Stream.   The Ordination service is from 7:00 – 8:30 pm, MST.

This Sunday our Malmo Deacons will be leading the worship service.  We’ve brought in a special guest speaker – Natasha Westerhoud who will be sharing the word with us.  So come and join us for our worship service at 11:00am.

Fathers Day Weekend News

We’ve got a full and exciting Sunday planned for you!  This Sunday is Father’s Day and we honour all you dads out there!  We’ll also be acknowledging and congratulating our High School graduates during the service.  Sunday is also our ‘Canada Conference Giving Sunday’, so we’ll be hearing about what’s been happening in the Church Planting area across Canada.  (If you’re able to help the Conference financially, please make your cheques out to ECCC).

Lots of information and celebration this Sunday – and all that is well and good.  But our reason to gather first and foremost is to worship God – in song, prayer, scripture and message.  So join us at 11:00am for worship and more this Sunday!

Weekend News

It’s been busy here this week on the church roof!  The trustees have organized and hired a crew to come and replace all the aging & broken screws on the metal roof.  We are so thankful for these workers, with their proper equipment and tools, as they tackle the VERY STEEP church roof!  Not an easy task – especially with the winds and hot sun that they’ve had to endure this week!!

A big thank-you to our Trustee board, for their continual organization and hard work on maintaining this old building!  And just a reminder to you all, that on Saturday, June 25th from 9:00am to Noon, the Trustees are organizing an ‘ALL Church Work Day’!  There’s a variety of jobs on the list – from cleaning to repairing – jobs for all genders and ages!  So if you have a morning to help out at church, that would be GREATLY appreciated!

This Sunday is our Discipleship/Confirmation celebration.  Pastor Marc will be presenting this class (which he teaches every Sunday during Sunday School) and they’ll be sharing what they’ve learned over the past two years.  We’ll also be sharing together in Holy Communion, lead by Pastor Randall.
And remember – there is NO Sunday School now until Autumn.  So, come and join us for this Sunday’s worship service at 11:00am!
Enjoy your weekend my friends!

It’s June! Weekend News

May showers bring June flowers?? Or at the very least it makes the grass grow like CRAZY! BUT even with that, we are indeed thankful for the ABUNDANT showers that God has blessed our land with! I can’t help but go outside and smile at the depths of the green colour in the leaves and at the Robin’s singing their beautiful songs – I’m sure in their praise to God!
“All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name!”
~Psalm 66:4

This Sunday we’ll be at Covenant Bay Bible Camp for our annual Children’s Day Service. (There’s NO service at Malmo on Sunday.) The day begins in the camp chapel at 10:30am with a time of worship. The fellowship and fun continues with a BBQ lunch and games, races and activities in the afternoon. The canteen will be open as well in the afternoon. Environment Canada says that it’s suppose to be sunny and 27 degrees – a truly lovely day to be out at camp! Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, ball gloves, sunscreen & maybe even bug spray?? And if you’re able help out, there’s a few jobs that will need to be done at camp to make sure it’s back in tip-top shape, before we leave.

A BIG thanks to all of you who responded to last week’s email! I sure appreciated it! It looks like this is a good and preferred way of communication for many of you, so we will continue with this format.

Enjoy this beautiful weekend and I hope to see you at Camp on Sunday at 10:30am!

This weekend is a big weekend for many of our youth.  We have four Grade 12’s graduating from the Wetaskiwin High School this weekend.  And Pastor Marc & Dixie are taking 8 youth to Edmonton for YC2016 Youth conference.  Would you be praying for both of these events?  For the leaders and the youth?  It’s an exciting but very busy time!

Come join us this Sunday at 9:45am for the final Sunday School class of the school year.  And then at 11:00am we join together in the sanctuary for our morning Worship Service – music, prayers, scripture, teaching and fellowship.  A lovely morning indeed!  🙂

Happy Weekend!

Happy Weekend Folks!

Just a reminder that the Canada Conference is happening TODAY & TOMORROW at Faith Covenant Church in Breton.  The evening service begins tonight at 7:00pm.  And on Saturday, the afternoon seminars at 2:00pm are open to everyone.  (No registration needed).  If you’re unable to attend the conference, can you be praying for it?  For all the business that will be accomplished, the relationships that are made & renewed, and for travelling safety as there are many who will be on the roads this weekend, going to and from Conference…and for ALL else that God is laying on your heart, as you consider the Conference this weekend.

Last Sunday, Pastor Randall shared that Covenant Bay Bible Camp is opening up it’s doors for the recent fire evacuees.  Volunteers and financial help are needed to make this all work well.  If you can help, please give the camp a call at 780-586-2828 or head over to their website at:

This Sunday is our Covenant World Relief – Kernels of Hope Giving Sunday.  We’ll be hearing how the monies raised through Kernels, helps those in a very needy area in the Congo.  (Cheques can be made out to E.C.C.C., memo ‘Kernels’.)
This Sunday is also Pentecost – that blessed day when God sent His Holy Spirit to come live with and among us.  I can’t imagine what life would be like without that incredible gift from Him!  Come and join us on Sunday at 11:00am to hear more about this – as well as worshipping together in all the ways that we do at Malmo!
See you Sunday!
