Weekend News

We’re just talking here in the office that we are in the final week of April already!  April sure seems to have flown by!!  We’re looking forward to May and the promise of more Spring in all it’s beauty!  🙂

With Spring officially here and with the rain that has fallen, the grass around the church is beautifully green!  It’s also ‘beautifully growing’!   (I bet you know what I’m going to ask next…)  It’s that time of year again, when we are looking for volunteers to mow and care for our church grounds.  Are you and your mower able to help us out?  Take a look at your calendar and see if you can volunteer for a couple of weeks this summer.  The sign up schedule will be posted on the bulletin board in the foyer on Sunday.  Thanks so much for considering this and helping us out!

The Canada Conference AGM in Breton is 2 weeks away, and the conference has just published their 112th Annual Report.  If you would like to read about what’s going on in our churches, affiliated ministries and global engagements, click here.  And remember, that anyone can attend the AGM in Breton.  For more information on the meeting and how to register, go to:

This Sunday during our 11:00am worship service, we will be sharing in Holy Communion together.  Can you take a few minutes this weekend and ready your heart for meeting with God at the table?  Pastor Randall wrote a prayer a couple of years ago that is really helpful in preparing our hearts and minds for the table.  Click here if you’d like to read it.

Enjoy the sun today & hang on to your hat!  🙂

See you Sunday!

Good morning All,

On Saturday, the Youth are heading up to Edmonton, for “Mission: Manhunt at the Mall”.  Please meet at the church at 10:30am or at the Northside Tim Hortons in Wetaskiwin at 11:00am.  (Bring a bag lunch or money to have lunch at the mall food court.)  If you have not yet let Jeramie Lee or Pastor Marc know that you are coming, PLEASE give them a call TODAY, as they need to know numbers to ensure they have enough drivers.

And then on Sunday, our Sunday School continues for all ages at 9:45am and our worship service at 11:00am.  This Sunday is our ‘Covenant Bay Bible Camp Giving Sunday’.  Kendra F. will be giving us an update of what’s been happening out at camp.  We’ll also be giving you an opportunity during the offering time to financially support the camp.  (If you’re able to do so, please make your cheques out to CBBC.)
Enjoy your weekend!
P.S.  We’ve added a link on our website home page, for the Bible Memory Verses.  Click on the bible under the ‘Welcome’ and it will take you to the verses!  (I know that a number of you have been looking for the verses – so we’ve made it easier to find!  🙂

A lovely blue-sky day out there.  I hope you get some time this weekend to enjoy this beautiful weather that we’re having!
It’s a ‘normal’ kind of weekend around here at the church.  Lots of details and events on the horizon though, so let me encourage you to read the bulletin, or head to the Church Calendar on our website, so you can be aware of what’s happening in the coming weeks.
We hope that you and your family will join us for Sunday School at 9:45 am and our Worship Service at 11:00 am.  And for those of you who are involved in The Family Project, you’re meeting again this Sunday at 6:30pm.

Weekend News

Our ‘Food Pantry’ is short of food, that we give to local community needs.  If you’re able to help with this, the following non-perishable items would be most helpful: salt, sugar, lard, oatmeal, rice, kraft dinner, spaghetti & macaroni, pasta & tomato sauce, soup, crackers.
The Youth planning team is looking for a cook for this Wednesday.  Tamara R. is cooking but does not have a partner.  (And we all know how much work it is to cook for 40 youth!!)  If you are able to partner with Tamara for this Wednesday, could you either please contact her or Pastor Marc?
Both pastors are back this Sunday, and are looking forward to sharing in worship, prayer, children’s lesson and message with us all.  So we hope you plan on joining us at 9:45am for Sunday School and 11:00am for our Worship Service.
Have a great weekend and we’ll see you on Sunday!

Weekend News

Good morning Folks,

Did you know that Easter is not done yet? In the church calendar, Maundy Thursday begins the Easter Season, and it carries on right up to Pentecost, 50 days after Easter Sunday. So we are continuing in this ‘Season of New Life’. As Pastor Randall shared last Sunday, God is doing something new amongst us – do we see it? I love this verse in Isaiah 43:19:

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.

As we shared with you earlier this week, Adele Peterson has gone home to be with her Heavenly Father. Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 5th at 2:00pm. Please be in prayer for the family during this time.

We’ve also been made aware of a need for food in our community. Can you help by bringing non-perishable goods to church on Sunday? Items that are most useful are: sugar, salt, lard, oatmeal, rice, canned meats, canned fish, kraft dinner, soup, spaghetti and pasta sauce. The food can be place in the Food Pantry bin, in the church foyer. Thanks!

This Sunday we’ll be gathering at 9:45am for Sunday School, 11:00am for the Worship service. And for those involved with The Family Project – that’s also happening on Sunday at 6:30pm.

Thanks all. Enjoy this beautiful weather and your weekend too. See you Sunday.

Holy Week News

The season of Lent is drawing soon to a close.  Today is our last ‘official’ Malmo Prayer Thursday.  We have been noticing the effects of your prayers, so a huge thank you to all who have been lifting up Malmo to God these days.  It IS making a difference and we thank God for His answers and His care for us!  We hope that you too have been blessed, as you’ve either gathered together in community to pray, or have spent time in personal prayer.
All the events of Holy Week are now here, beginning with Jesus having his final supper with his disciples.  You are invited to join us tonight for our Maundy Thursday service at 7:00 pm, as we remember those final moments, as they lead up to Jesus being hung on the cross. We’ll be reading scripture, singing some songs and sharing communion together this evening.
On Good Friday, there are 2 different services that you can choose from.  In the country, we’ll be joining together with the New Sweden Mission Church at 10:00 am.  In town, there is a joint ministerial service at the Calvary Baptist Church at 10:00am.  We hope that you and your family will choose to take part in one of them.
Sunday’s a-comin’ and we are thankful indeed to be able to celebrate our Risen Saviour on Easter Sunday!  Our worship service begins at 11:00am, (following our 9:45am Sunday School).  Come and join us as we celebrate all that God has done for us.   And if you have any flowers to help us decorate the stage – bring them a long – and we’ll have a beautiful easter display of colour and beauty on the stage.
Wishing you all a meaningful and reflective Holy Week.
