This Sunday is our ‘Global Missions Giving Sunday’.  We’re looking forward to having Carol L. sharing with us about Global Missions.  If you’d like to financially support the ongoing work of the Conference in this area, please make your cheques payable to ‘ECCC’, and we’ll forward those on for you.

An encouragement for us all today…

“Show up and participate
in what life has in front of you,
in what God is doing in your life.
Continue to lean in.
Continue to open your eyes.
Continue to scout the beauty.
Continue to create.
Continue to love.
Continue to get well.
Continue to breathe.”
~Leeanna Tankersley

” So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.”
~Galatians 6:9-10 (Message)

We’re back together, meeting at our little Church in the Field this Sunday.  It’s the first Sunday that we’ll be together in August which means we have the privilege to share with one another at the Lord’s Table.  I love that we do this every month – we come before God, we remember what He did, we thank Him for His incredible gift to us – and we do this together as a family.  Where else can you see that kind of unity and love?  It’s pretty special indeed.

And then after the service, we have an opportunity to celebrate and bless another young couple – Kari & Dawson –  with a Wedding Shower Potluck.  Bring a main dish and a salad to share.  Dessert will be provided.

I’m looking forward to Sunday.  I’ve missed worshipping together with you.  See you at 10:00am for our service.  Coffee and tea will be available in the front entry for you & your family.

Have a great weekend.

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering.  Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.”
~Romans 12:1 (Message)

I must admit that these days, most of my life feels rather “everyday & ordinary” – and that can leave me feeling unsettled and restless if I’m not careful.  God has been challenging me recently with a couple of things.  First, stop this silly comparison game.  Stop looking on social media thinking that my life is lacking or missing something.  Those thoughts are lies, plain and simple.  It’s time to call them what they are.  Secondly, God tells me to learn to live and be content in the ordinary, because the ordinary is a gift from Him too.  The every day stuff of “sleeping, eating, going-to-work and walking-around-life” – ALL of that is from God.  He’s asking me to EMBRACE it.  One of the definitions for embrace is “accept willingly and enthusiastically”.  Am I accepting the ordinary enthusiastically…with a good attitude and thankful heart?  It causes me to pause.  And repent.  And start again.  Thank you God that your mercies are new every morning.

Tomorrow at 2:00pm, at Living Springs Bible Camp, Mckenzie Pluim is being baptized.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  We rejoice with Kenzie and she makes her public declaration to follow Jesus!

This Sunday we begin our Summer Worship Services.  Join us at 10:00am for worship, prayer, scripture, communion and a message from God’s Word.  We’ll round out the morning with fellowship and coffee & goodies downstairs.  A great way to spend a Sunday morning.  Hope to see you there!

Enjoy your weekend!

Happy Canada Day Weekend!

Looks like the weather man is saying that there’s a mix of sun and showers in the forecast for this long weekend – and really, we can’t complain.  This rain that we’re receiving is truly a gift from God.  The trees, the flowers and the fields are bursting with a deep green colour that we haven’t seen for a long while!  Indeed, it’s a beautiful sight to behold!

Last night, we had our New Build Vote meeting.  Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in this important process.  The Church Board would like to share the outcome of that meeting with you:

“We have been trusting God for a clear decision regarding the new build plans. 48 people showed up to pray together and vote on Thursday. Along with 16 pre-votes, 84.4% voted “Yes” to move ahead with final engineered plans, getting firm pricing and fundraising. Praise God for a clear result!”

My daughter recently shared a quote with me that she heard from someone that she’s getting to know.  The truth of the quote has stuck with me…“Life is good. God is better.”  Yes.  Amen.

Have a great long weekend – and remember our Worship Service begins at 11:00am on Sunday.

Be a blessing where God has placed you today.

I hope you’re enjoying this “longest day of the year”!  I think the long summer days are one of the best reasons to live as far North as we do!  🙂

We’ve got lots going on this Sunday!  First, it’s our ‘Canada Conference Giving Sunday’.  Dixie was our delegate to the Conference AGM, back in May.  She’ll be sharing an update with us from those meetings.  We’ll also be giving you an opportunity to financially support the Conference.  If this is something that you’d like to do, please make your cheques payable to ‘ECCC’ and we’ll forward those onto the Conference for you.

This Sunday is also our Grad Sunday – a time to recognize our High School graduates.  This year we have Dave Kemerink, Frank Kemerink and Lois Schultz graduating.  We’ll be acknowledging them in the worship service and then during the coffee fellowship time, their parents will be sharing a bit more about their youth.  So be sure to stay after the service and join us downstairs for this celebration.

I hope you enjoy your weekend – and remember that our worship service begins at 11am on Sunday.

Take care,
