Praying for our Future Building Needs

As you pray about the future building needs of Malmo, here are some places to start. These can help give us words and reminders to pray. Pray that God would clearly lead us in this decision. Pray that God stirs in each of us to participate and to do our part in the decision making process. Pray that we might have a holy indifference so that the direction God leads us in doesn’t matter so much to us. Only that He…

And…..We’re BACK!!!

This past Wednesday night was A-BUZZ with activity and energy as 47 youth and 8 leaders gathered in the Malmo church basement, for the Kick-off of the Wednesday Night Youth Program!  We have renamed our group, the ‘Malmo Community Youth Group’, because we truly do have kids from all over our community – rural and urban – coming to youth.  We had a fantastic evening of ‘celebratory food’ (pizza, chips, pop & ice cream), get-to-know-you games & garbage ball.  We…

Youth Kickoff

It’s hard to believe that it’s time for youth again, summer seemed to go by so quickly. But here we are and we’re excited for what this year will bring! This year will include all of those things our youth have come to love and expect: meals together, games and activities, and Bible study—friendship, fun, and faith—and we pray that we will grow closer to God in the process. Our goal is to learn to follow Jesus together in relationship…

In favour of simple and direct prayer (we don’t need to be heroes).

I’m sometimes frustrated by my prayer life, which, when I compare it to what I think I know of the prayer lives of others (that’s probably my first mistake!), feels like it’s weak and shallow. Maybe you feel the same way about your own prayer life, wondering what it takes to be a “prayer warrior,” as some call it. Dallas Willard has some encouraging and helpful things to say to us. It’s maybe a bit of a long quote, but…

Community Field Party

Thanks to everyone who joined us this past Saturday at our ‘Community Field Party’!  We had a great day of fun activities; face painting, bouncing in the castle, playing ‘nuke ’em’, watching a movie, hanging around the fire pit, visiting with neighbours, enjoying BBQ hamburgers…and so much more!  Thanks to our C.E. board for all their planning & organization for this day!  It was a great day! Here’s a few pictures from the day: [slickr-flickr tag=”field party” items=”31″] To see…

Kaila Johnson and her work in London

If you’d like to read more about her ministry & the mission that she is involved with, or if you would like to support her financially, please visit her blog at freshpagenewchapter.blogspot.co.uk To learn…

Our Scripture for Sunday

The mouth speaks what the heart is full of. See what’s in your heart, by judging what comes out of your mouth. Matthew 15:10-20 10 Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.” 12 Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” 13…

Robin Williams, is dead.

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS Las Vegas/AP) — He was the funniest guy in the room, something that made it all the harder for friends and fans to accept that beneath that reservoir of frenetic energy and seemingly endless good humor resided demons so dark they could push Robin Williams to suicide. It was no secret that the Oscar-winning actor had suffered for years from periodic bouts of substance abuse and depression — he made reference to it himself in his comedy…

Welcome here

When I was first asked to think about moving to Malmo, one of the first things I did was to google it. Of course most of the hits I got were in Sweden and I knew I wasn’t called there. There were no Malmo Mission Covenant Church links or places even on Google maps to see where it was. Over these years we’ve had people working to create an online presence for our church and the broader community. For a…

Preparing for Holy Communion

Pastor Randall wrote some thoughts and a prayer about preparing our hearts before we come to God’s table.  Take some time to reflect on these words throughout the week, in preparation for Holy Communion.     Invitation to Prepare for Holy Communion In silence, reflect upon your lives, things done that should not have been done, and things that should have been done. Tell God you’re sorry, repent, ask Him to forgive you, and He will. Righteous God:  In this…
