Weekly News-Aug. 7

TOMORROW!  Dennis and Ruth are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a come and go outdoor party at the Church of God in Wetaskiwin from 2:00 to 4:30.  The address is 4407 – 56 Ave. The church is right across from Norwood School. Come for a distance visit and enjoy some coffee or pop and some individually wrapped treats. If it’s raining the event is cancelled.

This Sunday is the LAST DAY that we are collecting Wedding Shower cards and monetary gifts for Hillary and her fiance Dave.  Thank you for your most generous response, support and love for this new couple!  I will send our gifts to them this next week.

All Ladies and kids are invited to celebrate a Baby Shower for Amy and Josiah Van Raamsdonk on Saturday August 29th, 3:00pm at Alli Pluim’s house. We will do an outdoor, physical distancing party that is come and go. Feel free to wear a mask if that is more comfortable for you. All food and drink will be individually wrapped items. If you feel more comfortable just staying in your car and dropping off a gift that is great too. If you would like to arrange to drop something for them here in advance I am happy to arrange that as well.  We were sad to not be able to celebrate them when Josiah was born but look forward to blessing them now and meeting this little (big) guy! Any questions please call or text Alli at 780-312-4256.

Join us this Sunday at 10:30am for an Outdoor Service at the Malmo Church grounds.  We are looking forward to celebrating Holy Communion together during the service.  (Precautions will be taken to do this safely and appropriately.)  Please bring your lawn chairs, mosquito spray, coffee or tea.  And please dress for the weather!  (If you would like to have the Song Sheet on your digital device for Sunday, CLICK HERE.)  IF it is raining, the service will be CANCELLED and we will put a notice on the Home Page of our Website at www.malmochurch.ca.  As Covid-19 is still in our province, I need to remind you that you must not attend in person if you are experiencing the most common symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, or sore throat).

We also understand that you might not be ready to come and worship with us in person – and that’s okay!  We have an online service prepared that we hope you will engage with.  You can find it on our website at: www.malmochurch.ca/scattered-but-worshiping-together/

On a personal note, I will be away for the next 2 1/2 weeks for my daughter’s wedding, as well as taking a few days off before harvest begins.  If you require something, please email the church at office@malmochurch.ca, and I will see your request when I return to the office on August 27th.  If it is of urgent nature, please contact one of the pastors.

Thanks Folks and take care!
Delora
