It seems like it might be a different kind of Thanksgiving this year. If I’m being honest, I’m getting really tired of things being different. I would love to have something that is the same and familiar in how I do life. But it looks like for the foreseeable future, that will not be the case. As I spoke with my hubby this morning about my frustrations, he reminded me again of God’s goodness being consistent and new every morning. He’s right. That is the one thing that I can count on that will NEVER change. So this is what I remind myself and hold on to today: God’s love and mercy and goodness ARE new EVERY SINGLE MORNING – Covid or no Covid. I needed to hear that reminder today. Maybe you do too, so let me share those verses with you. Embrace them as God’s truth and promise for us today. ♥️
“Yet I still dare to hope
when I remember this:
The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
Here are a few announcements that we’d like you to be aware of:
THIS Tuesday, October 13th at 6:30pm is our ALL Boards meeting. This meeting is for all who are currently serving on a board. If you are unable to make it, please let your Board Chairs know.
Here’s an announcement from Pastor Marc about our Wednesday night Youth Nights (6:30-8:30pm):
“We are operating as a cohort according to Alberta’s Covid guidelines, so have to watch our numbers. For this week we are at the maximum size for our cohort. This number should drop slightly in the next week. If a youth has not been at a youth event in the last two weeks (i.e. you did not attend the corn maze or youth night on Wednesday, October 4), or hasn’t been to youth at all yet this year, they are not currently part of the youth group cohort, which IS full this week. If this applies to you or your child(ren), please contact Pastor Marc to let him know.”
You are welcome to join us this Sunday at 10:30 am for our Thanksgiving Worship Service. We will plan on having our Worship Service inside, HOWEVER, if all of a sudden the weather turns beautiful and warm, we will let you know on Sunday morning if we’ll be meeting outside. If you don’t hear anything, please assume that the service will be indoors.
As always, we encourage you to wear a mask, if you aren’t able to maintain the 6′ physical distance requirement. (Masks are available at church, if you don’t have your own.)
As Covid-19 is still in our province, we need to remind you that you must not attend in person if you are experiencing the most common symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, or sore throat).
We also understand that you might not be ready to come and worship with us in person – and that’s okay! We plan to have an online service prepared that we hope you will engage with. You can find it here on our website.
So wherever you choose to worship God this Sunday, I want to wish you a very wonderful and sweet Thanksgiving weekend!
