And…..We’re BACK!!!

This past Wednesday night was A-BUZZ with activity and energy as 47 youth and 8 leaders gathered in the Malmo church basement, for the Kick-off of the Wednesday Night Youth Program!  We have renamed our group, the ‘Malmo Community Youth Group’, because we truly do have kids from all over our community – rural and urban – coming to youth.  We had a fantastic evening of ‘celebratory food’ (pizza, chips, pop & ice cream), get-to-know-you games & garbage ball.  We…

Community Field Party

Thanks to everyone who joined us this past Saturday at our ‘Community Field Party’!  We had a great day of fun activities; face painting, bouncing in the castle, playing ‘nuke ’em’, watching a movie, hanging around the fire pit, visiting with neighbours, enjoying BBQ hamburgers…and so much more!  Thanks to our C.E. board for all their planning & organization for this day!  It was a great day! Here’s a few pictures from the day: [slickr-flickr tag=”field party” items=”31″] To see…

Preparing for Holy Communion

Pastor Randall wrote some thoughts and a prayer about preparing our hearts before we come to God’s table.  Take some time to reflect on these words throughout the week, in preparation for Holy Communion.     Invitation to Prepare for Holy Communion In silence, reflect upon your lives, things done that should not have been done, and things that should have been done. Tell God you’re sorry, repent, ask Him to forgive you, and He will. Righteous God:  In this…

Ecuador Adventure

Each year, Andy & Jenell Pluim lead a conference-wide missions trip to Ecuador.  Recently, our Canada Conference has formed a partnership with the Ecuadorian Covenant Church (IPEE) to support the Santiago Partnership Foundation.  This ministry serves communities that need medical clinics & homes for children at risk.  The team is going from February 24th to March 6th, 2015.  We are very excited to be able to be a part of this exciting work in Ecuador! Have you always wanted to…

Mother’s Day

This Sunday is Mother’s Day. It always seems to sneak up on me. Maybe because I’m a farmer and ‘May’ is just synonymous with ‘busy’. Or maybe it’s because we haven’t had much spring weather yet to remind us that Mother’s Day is coming? Whatever the reason, it really doesn’t matter because the day is almost here! I’ve been thinking a lot about my mom lately. How much she means to me and how I just don’t tell her as…

Prayer for Planting Season

Pastor Randall wrote this prayer for our church, as we’re entering this Springtime & the many different demands that are on us. Whether you farm in the field or work in an office or are busy in your home – this prayer acknowledges and redirects our thoughts and attitudes toward our God who is in control of ALL things. Take some time to read this prayer & make it your own today. Prayer for Planting Season Father, we are a…

Where does my help come from?

Good morning! How y’all doing today? I know it’s cloudy & life is busy…but it is still a day to “rejoice & be glad, because we’re not alone… “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” – Psalm 121:1&2 This Sunday we’ll continue rejoicing together with a family, as they bring their sweet baby boy to the Lord in dedication. We’ll also…

Adventures in Leadership

Adventures in Leadership is a leadership program for high school kids going into grades 10-12, organized and led by our denomination. It involves Christian leadership training in a wilderness setting (partially at Covenant Bay Bible Camp, but mostly the rocky mountains west of there). It runs from August 5-12. Up to two young people from our church can go. Weston Vickery went last year and it was a great experience for him. If you have any questions about the Adventures…

Reading Mark with Marc – The Final Week: Chapter 16

We’re wrapping up our “Reading the Gospel of Mark with Marc”. The final chapter this week is Chapter 16. Here’s this weeks questions: In terms of the details of this event, what is significant about who came to Jesus’ tomb and who witnessed where he was buried (15:47)? Why were the women afraid to tell anyone about what they saw? We hope you’ve enjoyed reading through this gospel together with us. Give us your comments & feedback on what you…

He Is Risen

He is RISEN…he is risen INDEED! Matthew 28:5 & 6 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. A day for celebration! A day for gratitude & rejoicing of all our Saviour has done for us! Come celebrate with us at our Easter Sunday Morning service! Sunday…
