Youth
Another year gone by!
Last Wednesday Malmo Community Youth Group had their year-end party, which included a wiener roast, a water fight, and a giant slip-n’-slide. God answered prayer: at 4:00 it was overcast and cool, by 5:15 there were barely any clouds in the sky and the sun was shining warm and bright. We have a lot of fun at this party every year, and as leaders we had conflicted feelings of both sadness and relief! Thanks to our youth for making this a…
Youth Making a Difference
A number of our youth got together last Saturday at the Manluk Aquatic Centre. They had some time together to swim and enjoy pizza – but the main focus of the afternoon was to work on a service project called ‘Sole Hope’. This is a non-profit organization that helps kids & adults in Uganda to acquire proper footwear. In Uganda, those who don’t have shoes are susceptible to ‘Jiggers’ – which are parasitic insects that burrow into feet and cause all…

Youth Ministry Workers
You’ve heard about all the youth that are coming out on Wednesday nights for our youth gathering. But did you know that there are a lot of adults working with our youth and behind the scenes for our youth? We’ve just recently compiled a list and we were amazed & truly thankful to God for answering our prayer to provide workers for this ministry. As you take a look at this list, please be praying for these leaders – whether…
Parents Praying for Our Youth
We are excited about sharing an opportunity to gather together and pray for our youth and youth program. You are invited to come out once per month (the first Wednesday of the month) for a simple soup meal followed by prayer and fellowship. This will happen at Randall and Lauralea’s house (the parsonage next to the church), so those of you who are dropping off youth can just walk over and settle in for an evening together. We are starting on…
Youth Worship & Celebration Night
Last night was our first ‘Worship & Celebration Night’ at youth this year. Worshipping God is part of learning how to be a disciple of Jesus – and that’s what our main focus is at youth this year. Sometimes we think of worship as only praising God with music. That’s part of it – but there’s truly an unlimited number of ways that we can worship our God. We explored a few of them last night, as we gave the…
CBC Legacy Scholarship
Do you have a youth that is enrolled in post-secondary theological, biblical or discipleship programs? If so, scholarships are available for them, through the ‘CBC Legacy Scholarship’ fund. The deadline to apply for this year is December 9th. Click here for more information.
And…..We’re BACK!!!
This past Wednesday night was A-BUZZ with activity and energy as 47 youth and 8 leaders gathered in the Malmo church basement, for the Kick-off of the Wednesday Night Youth Program! We have renamed our group, the ‘Malmo Community Youth Group’, because we truly do have kids from all over our community – rural and urban – coming to youth. We had a fantastic evening of ‘celebratory food’ (pizza, chips, pop & ice cream), get-to-know-you games & garbage ball. We…
Youth Kickoff
It’s hard to believe that it’s time for youth again, summer seemed to go by so quickly. But here we are and we’re excited for what this year will bring! This year will include all of those things our youth have come to love and expect: meals together, games and activities, and Bible study—friendship, fun, and faith—and we pray that we will grow closer to God in the process. Our goal is to learn to follow Jesus together in relationship…
Adventures in Leadership
Adventures in Leadership is a leadership program for high school kids going into grades 10-12, organized and led by our denomination. It involves Christian leadership training in a wilderness setting (partially at Covenant Bay Bible Camp, but mostly the rocky mountains west of there). It runs from August 5-12. Up to two young people from our church can go. Weston Vickery went last year and it was a great experience for him. If you have any questions about the Adventures…
