July 5, 2020 – SCATTERED BUT WORSHIPPING TOGETHER

As you make your way through today’s worship service, instructions and suggestions will be included in italics. Get a cup of coffee and settle in for this time of worship with your community.

Welcome to Worship

At 11 am gather in a common area in your home.
In the centre, place a lit candle.

Gathering Prayer

Our hearts are blessed as we gather before You today, O Lord,
for you have given us freedom from all our transgressions
and joy in exchange for heavy hearts.
You are the refuge we seek when we are troubled
and the courage we need when we venture into our days.
Bless us today with Your steadfast love
as we declare our trust in You.
Amen.

SONG WORDS:

All Creatures Of Our God And King

Verse 1
All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing
Alleluia alleluia
O burning sun with golden beam
And silver moon with softer gleam
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia

Verse 2
O rushing wind so wild and strong
O clouds that sail in heaven along
O praise Him alleluia
O rising morn in praise rejoice
O lights of evening find a voice
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia

Verse 3
And all of you with tender heart
Forgiving others take your part
Alleluia alleluia
All you who pain and sorrow bear
Trust God and on Him cast your care
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia

Verse 4
Let all things their Creator bless
And worship Him in humbleness
O praise Him alleluia
Praise praise the Father praise the Son
And praise the Spirit Three in One
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia

Praise praise the Father praise the Son
And praise the Spirit Three in One
O praise Him O praise Him
Alleluia alleluia alleluia

Song words:

All The People Said Amen

You are not alone if you are lonely
When you feel afraid you’re not the only
We are all the same in need of mercy
To be forgiven and be free
It’s all you got to lean on
But thank God it’s all you need

And all the people said amen whoa
And all the people said amen
Give thanks to the Lord for His love never ends
And all the people said amen

If you’re rich or poor well it don’t matter
Weak or strong you know love is what we’re after
We’re all broken but we’re all in this together
God knows we stumble and fall
And He so loved the world
He sent His son to save us all

And all the people said amen whoa
And all the people said amen
Give thanks to the Lord for His love never ends
And all the people said amen

Blessed are the poor in spirit who are torn apart
Blessed are the persecuted and the pure in heart
Blessed are the people hungry for another start
For theirs is the kingdom the kingdom of God

And all the people said amen whoa
And all the people said amen
Give thanks to the Lord for His love never ends
And all the people said amen

Scripture Reading for the Day –
Invite someone to read aloud.

Psalm 121  (NIV)

A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Sermon: We are all on an epic journey (Lessons I learned in the mountains)

Grad Sunday

Normally we acknowledge our grads in person on a Sunday morning in June. This year everything is new and different. We prerecorded a Grad Sunday video in case we wouldn’t meet in person again until autumn. We are meeting outdoors at Malmo today, but wanted to make Grad Sunday available for those of you who are joining worship online for now in this season.

Grad Parent Congratulations and Encouragement

Normally during the fellowship time after the Grad Sunday, parents are given the option to share a few words for and about their grad. Here are some of the words from our grad parents:

>> The Hlusiak’s (Andreas):

Brian & Karen Hlusiak’s Grad Sunday congratulations (hand-written PDF document)

>> The Reids (Matthias):

>> The Sandins (Mathias):

>> The Vandersluys’ (Madeline):

Closing Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
