November 1, 2020 – SCATTERED BUT WORSHIPPING TOGETHER Communion Worship Service

We’re trying this out today – our 1st “Live stream” Worship Service. (Sunday, November 1st)

We are hoping to be streaming live from 10:30am until it’s completion, at approximately 11:45am.  (Please have grace for us, as we strive to get this all working.)

If you watch the live stream, would you please let us know your thoughts about it?  We are testing this format and would love your input.  You can email your thoughts and comments to us at: office@malmochurch.ca .

Pre-service Announcements:

One more announcement for you:

Christmas is just around the corner, which means it’s time to gather gifts and supplies to fill Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes!  We’ve done this for a number of years already and it’s been great to see your response and support of this good work.  This year, the shoeboxes need to be returned to Malmo by Sunday, November 15th.  (Empty boxes are available in the church foyer for you to take home & fill.)

Take a look at the following video as it highlights this years program:

As you make your way through today’s worship service, instructions and suggestions will be included in italics. Get a cup of coffee and settle in for this time of worship with your community.

Welcome to Worship

Gather in a common area in your home or on your deck or front steps.
In your midst, place a lit candle to remind you of God’s presence with you.

Gathering Prayer

From Psalm 34:

I will bless the Lord at all times—
praise will continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall rejoice in the Lord;
let the humble hear it and rejoice.
Come, glorify our God with me.
Let’s exalt God’s name together!

Song words:

Cornerstone

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name
(REPEAT)

Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm He is Lord
Lord of all

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil

Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm He is Lord
Lord of all

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne

Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm He is Lord
Lord of all

Discipleship Moment (for the young & old):

Closing Song:
Song words:

Holy Holy Holy

Holy holy holy
Lord God Almighty
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to Thee
Holy holy holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons
Blessed Trinity

Holy holy holy
All the saints adore Thee
Casting down their golden crowns
Around the glassy sea
Cherubim and seraphim
Falling down before Thee
Which wert and art
And evermore shalt be

Holy holy holy
Though the darkness hide Thee
Though the eye of sinful man
Thy glory may not see
Only Thou art holy
There is none beside Thee
Perfect in power
In love and purity

Holy holy holy
Lord God Almighty
All Thy works shall praise Thy name
In earth and sky and sea
Holy holy holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons
Blessed Trinity

Closing Prayer:

As our worship concludes, our time of service begins.
We return to our living and working amidst a world of need
As we go from this place,
we carry with us the knowledge that we are recipients of God’s gifts.
As we go, we want to share those gifts with the world around us.
And may God walk with us as we travel life’s road.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
