How are YOU doing? I’ve been thinking about you this week – the Church, the PEOPLE, who meet at Malmo. I pray for you and I wonder how you are doing as this season of Covid-19 continues.
I’ve been considering how this season, for many of us, is one of quiet and of waiting. I believe that there is much for us to learn right now – realizations and truths that are sometimes difficult to hear when we’re so busy. The Bible has a lot to say about ‘waiting’ – especially about waiting for the Lord. ‘Waiting’ is often paired with phrases like ‘hope’, ‘take heart’ or ‘help’…
- I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. ~Psalm 130:5
- Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. ~Psalm 27:1
- We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. ~Psalm 33:2
- I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. ~Lamentations 3:24-26
So today, let me encourage you to wait with hope on the Lord. In the quiet, ask Him what He has to show you in this season. Let Him help you sort through your thoughts, emotions, ideas and priorities. My prayer is that we wouldn’t forget all that He is doing in us, when this pandemic ends. Because this pandemic will eventually end. So may we continue to see each day – even the quiet and uncertain days – as an opportunity and gift from Him.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. ~Phil 1:6
Men! Did you know that the Mens Tuesday Morning Prayer meeting is still happening? From the quiet of your home, you can join other men in fellowship and prayer, via Zoom. Contact Pastor Marc if you’re interested, and he’ll send you the link to join.
Monika has been busy making another Bible Memory Verse video update. CLICK HERE to see the latest news about the program.
On Sunday, our “Scattered but Worshipping Together” services continue. Pastor Randall will be sending you an email tomorrow with all the service details. It will also include a link to join us for our “Coffee Fellowship time via Zoom” at 11:45am. We tried this last week and it worked pretty well. (Personally, it was great to see all your smiling faces!) All are welcome to join us for this.
We’d still love to receive your prayer requests, praises or pictures. Please send them to me via email at: email@example.com or text them directly to me at 780-312-4620. I’ll be sure to get your requests included in next week’s News and your pictures added to our Malmo Photo Gallery.
Thank you for continuing to support the work and ministry here at Malmo – with your words of encouragement, your prayers – and with your financial gifts. Online Giving is available, or if you’d prefer to send a cheque through the mail, please send it to: Malmo Mission Covenant Church, RR #2, Wetaskiwin AB, T9A 1W9.
