“Lent is a time of returning to God. It is a time to confess how we keep looking for joy, peace, and satisfaction in the many people and things surrounding us without really finding what we desire. Only God can give us what we want. So we must be reconciled with God … The season of Lent, helps us in a special way to cry out for God’s mercy.” ~ Henri Nouwen
Not many words to say after that quote. For me, those words hit me at the core.
I don’t know where you are today or what your thoughts are about Lent, but my prayer for all of us, is that we would be open to listening to God and moving towards Him, letting go of the distractions that are around us. Only in Him, our peace and fulfillment will be found.
Did you receive your Lenten bag yet? A big ‘thank you’ to the C.E. Board for all of their work and creativity in putting together those bags for us! If you haven’t received your bag yet, contact the office and we will track it down for you.
The Bible Memory Verse program has officially begun! Families with kids – you should have received your packages in your Lenten bag. If you’re looking for extra copies of the verses, they are available on our website at: www.malmochurch.ca/bible-memory-2/. Sarah Kinsey and Debbie Schultz are our memory verse ‘listeners’ this year, so when you’re ready to recite your verses, give one of the ladies a call to discuss the best method that would work for you. (Sarah – 780-312-6196. Debbie – 403-783-0202). A reminder too, that ANYONE can say verses – no matter what your age is! 😊
On Tuesday morning, you will be receiving an email from us which will outline the steps of our new Worship Service RSVP system. Please keep an eye out for it and take some time to read it.
THIS SUNDAY, we will be meeting together at Malmo for our 10:30am Worship Service.
If you would like to attend our in-person service, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Saturday at 6:00pm. We have a limited number of seats available. These seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis on Sunday morning. (RSVP’s are still necessary, although we won’t be telling you where to sit.)
If you are not quite ready to join us in-person, that is ok! Please join us virtually for our live-stream service at 10:30am. You can access that service HERE.
