Weekly News-Feb 21

For the last month or so, I’ve been reading through the book of Isaiah – and I’ve really enjoyed it!  I’ve found SO many verses that have spoken to me and helped me in my daily walk with God.  The verse below really encourages me – both personally, as Darryl and I make decisions on a number of things – and corporately, as I think of us –  the church who meets at Malmo – moving forward to build a new church building.

“You will not leave in a hurry,
    running for your lives.
For the Lord will go ahead of you;
    yes, the God of Israel will protect you from behind.”

Isaiah 52:12 (NLT)

The first part of this verse reminds me that I don’t need to be frantic or rushed as I make decisions, or even as I implement those decisions.  I need to be reminded of that because I tend to push through or rush things, forgetting to stay in the moment and enjoy the journey.

The second part of the verse comforts me a GREAT DEAL.  God is going before me – He KNOWS the way and He’s the one making it possible for me to move forward.  AND God is behind me – protecting me from those things that would love to sneak up, distract me and push me off course.

So be encouraged.  God knows what’s going on in your life today – He’s before you and He’s behind you.  And as Romans 8:38 reminds us… “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.”
This Sunday is our Canada Conference Giving Sunday.  Pastor Marc will be sharing about the work of the Conference and how we, here at Malmo, are a part of it.  If you’d like to financially support the work of the Conference, please make your cheques payable to ‘E.C.C.C.’.

See you on Sunday:

The coffee and tea will be hot and waiting for you.

Take care & have a great weekend!
