Weekly News-February 25th

Welcome to the last weekend of February.  For being the shortest month of the year, it has certainly seemed like a long one. This is my last week as official Admin Substitute. Stacey Lees will take up the reins next week, starting March 1. There is much to learn, and therefore much opportunity for extending grace as it gets figured out. I’m thankful that my “boss” has been very patient with me while I’ve been filling in. So much has changed since I last took it on.  The past two years have changed so many things. I’m glad Jesus never changes. (Hebrews 13:8)

With March always comes looking ahead to spring, and the busyness that spring brings. March is an in-between month, where the seasons seem to continually be in flux; is it really spring, or will winter hold on for a little longer? I find comfort these days, in the words Moses spoke to Joshua as he was transitioning into leadership, “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:8) Jesus, who never changes, goes with us. He will never fail us or forsake us. There is comfort and courage to be found in this knowledge.

Whatever your week brings you, whatever March has in store, wherever spring finds us, let us be strong and courageous. Let us not be afraid or discouraged. God goes before us, and he will not fail us or forsake us.

Blessings,
Lauralea
