Weekly News-Jan. 14th

Do you ever hear a message that isn’t really ‘new’ information to hear, but it shakes you up nonetheless?  Well that happened to me a few days ago.  I was driving to Camrose, listening to the “Things Above Podcast” by James Bryan Smith.  He was sharing a story about Eugene Peterson’s son, Leif.  When Leif was a young boy, his father Eugene, (the author of The Message), would come into Leif’s room every night and speak these words over his son while he was sleeping:

“God loves you.
God is on your side.
He is coming after you.
He is relentless.”

When I heard those words, I got chills up my arms and I was moved to tears by the truth of that simple message.  Clearly I needed to hear those words again, as I’ve been recently wrestling with some changes and doubts.  This simple, but life changing truth of – God loves me, He is on my side, and He will never give up on me – is exactly what I needed to hear and to be reminded of.  To live fully in the truth of those words is life-changing, if I let it be.

So that’s my story that I wanted to share with you this week, because maybe you need to be reminded too…
“God loves you.
God is on your side.
He is coming after you.
He is relentless.”
