Well I thought it was cold last week! HA! Apparently not. This week definitely takes the prize of ridiculously cold weather! I hope you’ve managed to stay warm and haven’t had too many issues, due to the cold.
“He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Silence! Be still!’ The wind ceased and there was a great calm. Then he said to them, ‘Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?'” ~ Mark 4:39-40
This passage is one that speaks to me, no matter how many times I read it. The fear of the disciples, the instant miracle of Jesus calming the waves, and the love He shows them as He also calms their worries and fears. And then the questions He asks them, challenging them to look deep within themselves. What do they believe? Do they believe that He IS the Son of God? Do they believe that He is enough for them each and every day – in every circumstance? And in turn, He asks me those very same questions… do I believe and trust Him fully? Am I ready to let go of the fears in ‘my storm’ and trust that He is with me? I believe at some point, these are questions that we all need to answer. Have you thought about what you would say to Jesus?
