Change. It’s hard for some and even hard-ER for others. I fall into the second camp for sure. I like things comfortable and steady and known. “Don’t mess with my system because I have it figured out”, sort of thing. Even as I write that I’m chuckling at myself at how unrealistic it is for me to expect to continue to live in that tiny little comfortable box.
I’ve been sensing for quite some time now, God nudging me to let go of the comfortable and look forward to what He has for me next. This has been a scary thing for me to do, because as I said above, I like being comfortable. But in the places where I’m uncomfortable, I find myself trusting God in new ways, as I let go of the things that I’m grasping and hang more fully onto Him.
Isaiah 30:21 says,
“Your own ears will hear him.
Right behind you a voice will say,
“This is the way you should go,”
whether to the right or to the left.”
This verse is one of the verses that I’m hanging on to these days. (The other is Jeremiah 29:11). God promises to lead me and walk with me into the ‘next’ – wherever that may be. And God has never shirked on any of His promises, so I will just continue walking with Him, knowing that He has both my present AND my future in His Hand.
All of this is leading to what many of you already know – I have resigned from my position as Malmo’s Administrative Assistant. The first week of February will be my last week of serving Malmo in this capacity. I’m not going to say ‘good-bye’ yet, as I still have a couple of weeks left. AND I’m not leaving the church, just the position. But if I come to your mind in the coming days, I sure would appreciate your prayers. The change that is coming is hard, but necessary to keep growing.
Join us this Sunday for Sunday School at 9:30am and our Worship Service at 10:30am. Pastor Randall is away in Chicago at meetings and Midwinter Conference. (Please remember to be praying for him and Lauralea too.) The Deacons will be taking care of the service this week and we have the pleasure of having Snowy Noble sharing God’s word with us.
We continue to do our part and observe the Provincial Covid guidelines of 1/3 capacity in our building. Seats will be available on a first come, first seated basis. If you are unable to join us in person, feel free to check out our Livestream option, available HERE.
IF there are any changes to this week’s Sunday School or Worship Service, you will be contacted via email by Saturday night.
Take care and stay safe,
