“You have a choice every single day.
Faith or Fear.
What will you choose today?”
~Hannah Brencher

This is what I’ve been asking myself (again) this week.  Let me share a little secret with you…getting up to speak in front of you all, every Sunday morning, terrifies me.  Yes, it’s true.  And it’s even more true when it’s been so long since I’ve done it, due to us not meeting together because of Covid, etc.  Well, I’ve been battling with these fears more intensely this week because this Sunday is our Covenant Congo Kids Giving Sunday – it is such a cool and excellent ministry!  HOWEVER, Pastor Randall has asked me to do the presentation.  So this whole week I’ve waffled back and forth between “I can do this” and “there’s no way I can do this”.  Deep sigh…

No where in the Bible can I find where God says, “Give up” or “It doesn’t matter” or “Let fear win”.  On the contrary, it’s estimated that there are over 365 times in the Bible where it says “Do not fear”, or some version of that – one for every day of the year!  And just like God does to confirm a message even deeper – He used Pastor Randall last Sunday, as he shared in his sermon how we need to just get up and go with and where God is going.  (my loose paraphrase).  And yes, God (& Pastor Randall) are right again.

So, Sunday is a-comin…and I will be getting up in front of you and sharing about our Congo Kids.  So if you think of me, say a prayer for my courage and that I can walk with God into what He is calling me to do.  If you are in the sanctuary on Sunday, please smile at me behind your mask!  It is really odd and a bit daunting to look out at a sea of ‘masked faces’!  So smile at me with your eyes, if you could. I’d appreciate it!  😃

Like I mentioned above, this Sunday is our Covenant Congo Kids Giving Sunday.  We raise money once a year to support our 4 Congo Kids.  If you can help us financially with this, please make your cheques payable to Malmo.  OR go to our website and give an online gift.  Whatever method you choose to use, please remember to memo your donation ‘Congo Kids’ so Andy knows where to put the donation.

Tomorrow is our Annual Meeting at 1:00pm.  You are invited to join us either in person (please RSVP to office@malmochurch.ca)  OR  via Livestream.  We will email you the Livestream link for the meeting this afternoon.  For easy access to the Annual Report Book and the meeting agenda, CLICK HERE to go to our Annual Meeting page on our website.

THIS SUNDAY, we will be meeting together at Malmo for our 10:30am Worship Service.  If you would like to attend, please RSVP to office@malmochurch.ca  by Saturday at 6:00pm.  We will have limited number of seats available on the main floor (27), balcony (9) and basement fellowship room by TV (23).  Seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis on Sunday morning.  (RSVP’s are still necessary, although we won’t be telling you where to sit.). If you have any questions, please contact Jeremy Pluim at 780-312-4236.

If you are not quite ready to join us in-person, that is ok!  Please join us virtually for our live-stream service at 10:30am.  You can access that service HERE.

Take care,

Delora
