for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.”
This is all I have this morning – this verse that came to my mind as I was walking outside early this morning – my mind filled with a million questions and no answers. Truth be told, I was feeling rather sorry for myself. But into my foggy brain comes this verse – to remind me that this is what I need to do…
Every morning, begin with praise and thanks to Jesus for His unfailing love, because He deserves it and is worthy of all the praise that I can give. The Bible says that if we don’t praise him, the stones will cry out in praise instead. (Luke 19:40) May I not let a stone “out-do” me today – or any day for that matter.
Secondly, I need to stop rolling all these questions around in my mind, trying to come up with my own solution. Rather, I need to share them with Jesus and then leave them there with Him. Why? Because He loves me and because I trust Him. Rather, I say I trust Him – so then this is my action to show that I trust Him. Believing fully that He will show me what to do and which way I should go – in His time and schedule, not mine. Is this easy? No. Is it worth it? Yes. Yes, it is. Even when I’m flat on my face after failing and needing to learn this again, I believe with all my heart that it is worth it.
So today, if you’ve having a tough day, may I encourage you to pause, to praise and thank Jesus. If you’re having a great day, may I encourage you to pause, to praise and thank Jesus. It’s remarkable how that simple act of obedience brings a whole new light and perspective to the day. And if you too, are having a foggy brain day and need some clarity, ask Him. He loves you and He’s waiting to hear from you.
And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”
