Weekly News-May 28th

I’ve been going through Max Lucado’s book, “Grace – More than we deserve.  Greater than we imagine.”, with a couple of friends these past couple of months.  This week’s chapter was on fear, and the impact of grace on our fears.  This quote comes from the book:

“If God permits the challenge, He will provide the grace to meet it.”
~Max Lucado

This wasn’t a new realization for me, but I definitely needed to be reminded of this again – especially in these long days of Covid and all the stress that continues to accompany it.  John 1:16 says,  “Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.”  Which means that God’s grace will never run out!  There IS and ALWAYS will be enough grace for ANY situation that will come my way.  God is not miserly with His grace.  It overflows – all the time.  We just need to accept it.

“God has enough grace to solve every dilemma you face, wipe every tear you cry, and answer every question you ask.”
~Max Lucado

I have a couple of announcements that I would like to highlight from the C.E. Board.
  1. The Bible Memory Verse Program has been extended to June 30th!  So there’s still time to recite your verses and earn free Camp registration at Covenant Bay Bible Camp.  Questions or to recite your verses – contact Sarah or Debbie.
  2. Our Children’s Day service at Covenant Bay will be Sunday, June 13 at 10:30.
The camp is currently able to run under campground regulations, and because of this, it will be an outdoor only event AND weather permitting (our rainy day alternative is an indoor service at Malmo).  The camp kitchen will be closed, so please bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy.  Washrooms will be open.  There will be a family craft activity available and a ball game too, so bring your lawn chairs and ball gloves.
    – There is also the option to camp that weekend at Covenant Bay.  Please register for RV sites or a cabin at covenantbay.ca/malmo in advance.  Please remember that food will not be provided for this weekend.

Lots of changes again this week in Alberta!  The most notable for us is that we are again allowed to meet together in person for our Sunday Worship Service – at 15% of the fire code.  So if you would like to attend this Sunday’s Worship Service, please go to our website and book your seat.  (Just a reminder that each week, the Booking Page will be available on Tuesday mornings at 9am).  If you’re more comfortable watching from home, that’s fine too!  We will continue live streaming our worship service.  You can access it HERE.

No matter which method you choose, we look forward to worshipping on Sunday at 10:30am with you!

Take care,
Delora
