Weekly News-Nov. 19th

A few weeks ago, I was going through some old videos on my computer.  I came across this beauty – Malmo’s Advent Processional from December 2013. (CLICK HERE to view the video).  As I watched it, I was amazed again at how quickly time flies.  Seeing a glimpse of our dear sister, Alice.  Watching all those “little kids” walking down the aisle with smiles and excitement.  Many of them are now teenagers and have doubled in height – and some have even left and gone on to their next adventure!  Honestly?  Watching this video made me feel old.  But it also made me smile with gratitude, as I was reminded again of God’s good gifts to us here at Malmo.  A church filled with children that we are privileged to love and watch as they grow up.  Seniors that have kept the faith and have been an example to us of God’s unending faithfulness.  A spiritual leader who takes the time to ‘walk’ with our children – both literally in walking down the aisle during the procession and figuratively as he walks and disciples our children in their faith.  (And us too!)  Volunteers who decorate the church, play music and organize children with advent figurines…and so much more.  God is good and God is faithful – and He will continue to be, because Malmo is HIS church.

As we continue to gather and heal together, I believe with all my heart that a time is coming when we will laugh and dance once again.  There IS Hope and there IS Grace & Peace.  (Thank you Rob Peterson and Glenn Peterson for those 2 messages.)

“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.”
~Eccl. 3:1, 4
